I can’t think of anything more uplifting than fresh color that makes the house pop. Whether on the walls, trim or a fabulous built-in, fresh colors are sure to make your house scream high style.
I’m currently working on a large family room remodel and the homeowners favorite color is green. So it just made sense to paint the built-in bar a glossy emerald green, don’t you think? To create further drama, I painted the kitchen cabinets white, added a black island and will be ordering a custom emerald sofa for the entry. (This helps create flow as you meander through the house.)
What I love the most is that after seeing the design concept I created, the client said they were all colors that made her feel good. Then I showed the palette to a friend and she said the same thing. Doesn’t it make sense to surround yourself with colors that make you feel really good? Of course! That’s feng shui 101!
When it comes to color always choose what you love. Seems simple, right? But I see so many clients trying to fit into what they see all over the place, and it just doesn’t work that way. Don’t ever hop on a trend if you think it’s a color you’ll get sick of. I have clients that have loved the same color for over twenty years – and that is the color they should surround themselves with – not what’s all over pinterest.
The great thing is, if you do like the idea of adding a fresh bright to your home, these five colors will not only make you happy, but they go with just about anything, no matter your style. All of them can be incorporated in one form or fashion either on their own or together to give your home an exciting pop. (And if you don’t have the confidence to do it on your own don’t hesitate to contact us. My team and I offer design help to people all over the country!)

Fresh brights are all the rage right now and sure to boost anyone’s mood. So as long as you love the color and it works well with your current mix, try it on for size in an accent chair, a built-in, trim, a door, or even the ceiling! You’ll be amazed at what a conversation piece it becomes….
