Just getting home from San Francisco and now I am off to Houston, Texas to the Zaza hotel. Have been to Dallas but never to Houston, so looking forward to this trip. I’m staying in a great hotel in the museum district and cannot wait to lay by the pool with a yummy pina colada.
Isn’t this pool divine? Of course I will have to muster up the energy to leave my room…..
Each room is decorated entirely different and bears the decadence that is Texas in all it’s glory.
I will most definitely be spending a day here at the spa as well. All this travel has me plain tired and worn out! And how will you be spending your weekend?

I’ll be spending the weekend in Houston – I live here so, welcome! I hope you’re tempted to swing through the Museum of Fine Arts, literally in front AND to the side of Zaza. The older MFAH building (to your left as you walk out Zaza’s front entrance or directly in front of you if you exit through Monarch Restaurant) has a very neat Neoclassic “back side” with a lawn in front of it. This was the original entrance before Mies Van der Rohe designed the addition on what is now the front. Be sure to lift your eyes as you cross the street near the traffic circle and look at the two stunning contemporary homes on what looks like a single, Texas-size lot. They have an equally divine neighbor to their right at the street intersection that separates MFAH, its sculpture garden and Contemporary Arts Museum. There’s so much to do here, but you sound tired so I’ll only insist that you aid your digestion by ambling around this particular block. Enjoy!
