Moody colors for fall

The Sherwin Williams color forecast for 2017 is here. Although this forecast doesn’t seem to be as big as Pantone’s, this is a collection you won’t want to miss. Broken into four color categories: Noir, Holistic, Intrepid, and Unbounded, my favorite collection by far is Noir. It’s dramatic, rich and moody. Perfect for luxe gold finishes we are seeing everywhere, and peoples restless nature.

Color has a profound affect on our mood. As the state of our world continue’s in disarray, turn to calming dark colors, especially in large rooms, makes them intimate and cozy. Noir captures that brilliantly.

“the state of color has never been more restless. New Spirituality, cultural flux, feisty self-expression and soulful nostalgia are combining to paint an emerging portrait of our shared future” ~Sherwin Williams

Oh my. What a quote about this collection! As we step into fall, and quickly move into 2017, there is still one thing that remains true, we all crave rest and refuge. Luckily, we are growing more mindful as a culture, longing for down time away from glowing screens, buzzing phones and concrete jungles.

Moody Colors For Fall

This color palette sets a dramatic stage and forces you to gaze inward. Here you’ll find color that recharges you and your spirit. Hello! That’s talking my language!

As a feng shui practitioner I honor color and its ability to change our environments’ energy in bold ways. As an interior designer I respect color for its ability to bring beauty to a space. The Noir collection combines this enthusiasm with high style and leaves you in what the Japanese call MA; the silence between the notes.

Let’s light some incense, put on our favorite kaftan, and chill out with a glass of wine. Oh, and invite some friends over to chill out with you. This color palette of rich fruits, nordic blues, and moody neutrals is gonna help you find your Ohm.

I mean shut the front door! These colors are sensual as much as they are dramatic. They have a luster about them that the trending fresh whites just can’t deliver. Through colorful imagination, don’t be surprised to find your creativity stimulated in these romantically dark hues. Watch out alabaster, this decadent combo is in hot pursuit to replace you.
