It is considered the most yang (active) of all the sections on the Bagua map. It has the qualities of power, synchronicity, inspiration and confidence. It is finding yourself at the right place at the right time, finding inspiration necessary to make the next move or finding a mentor that transforms your life.
Last year before I joined my mastermind group I knew that I needed help. The landscape for business has changed drastically over the last couple of years, especially for interior designers. So much so that many designers are leaving the industry at an exponential rate. In 2010 15,000 firms closed their doors nationwide. By 2012 over 75,000 designers closed their doors never to return to the industry. While this may seem like a good thing for those sticking around, there is good reason to throw our hands up in the air and call it quits. Our creativity is no longer valued with so many DIY sites online, and the mindset that anyone can do what we do has spread like wild fire. The look that a DIY’er creates may not be the same as what a professional would produce, but for many folks doing their homes, it’s good enough. My industry is not the only one being effected by the economy and the savvy mindset of consumers, this mentality has struck everything from healthcare, to insurance to the TV industry. Everyone in my close circle is having to reevaluate how they do business in this new economy. A time when qualities like power, synchronicity, inspiration and confidence are highly regarded.

If you would like more travel, are about to move, or want to feel more connected now is the time to focus. The colors associated with this section are whites and black. Add affirmations to your life that are positive and get clear about what it is you want, and most importantly, if this area of your home is cluttered and disorganized so will your thoughts and focus.
