I have never been a huge fan of Valentine’s Day. It was always a silly day to wait in long lines at a fancy restaurant and get terrible food and service, because the waitstaff was overwhelmed. And oh by the way, today I love you more than any of those other days, because Hallmark says so. I also felt that it was a wasteful holiday. Growing up I always made the connection that teddy bears and lingerie were synonymous with Valentines day. No wonder our human culture is so weird. And what happens to those bears? They get shoved on a shelf, never to be seen or heard of again. The lingerie? Well any smart woman over thirty just shoves that stuff to the back of the dresser and opts for the comfy T-shirt.
