After reading the recent Robert Allen newsletter I was super excited to read that the Robert Allen color library is introducing their next collection of fuchsia fabric.
From them:
“The color fuchsia is a stylish pink that shares its name with a popular perennial of the same hue. Bright but sophisticated, this color is considered both warm and cool, making it perfect for use in a variety ofcolor palettes. It sits opposite green on the color wheel, which is whyfuchsia pink and viridian green is a popular color scheme for home décor and fashion.
Fuchsia came into vogue in the twentieth century thanks to fashion designer Elsa Schiaparelli. She introduced the high fashion world to the color in 1937 with a collection that included a glamorous, bright pink dress and the launch of her perfume that came in fuchsia packaging and was named “Shocking!” In 1953 Marilyn Monroe brought it to the silver screen in the movies Niagara, and Gentlemen Prefer Blondes with her performance of “Diamonds are a Girl’s Best Friend.” In 2001, Pantone chose a warmer shade of the hue, Fuchsia Rose, as its color of the year.
Robert Allen Color Library brings this popular fashion color into the home with a collection of Fuchsia fabric. This upholstery collection includes over fifty fabrics in the vivid pink as part of the artistic color collection,Pigment, which also includes Viridian, Cobalt and Turquoise fabrics, all of which coordinate well with fuchsia.”
