Makes 1 drink

1 fl oz. brandy

1 fl oz. pear brandy

¾ fl oz. freshly squeezed lemon juice

sugar, to serve

thin slice of pear. to garnish

Pour all the ingredients into a cocktail shaker. Add ice and shake vigorously to chill.

(A proper drink-to-ice ratio are key to the perfect sidecar. The ice dilutes and softens the cocktail,

otherwise the flavors are too sharp and bitter.)

Strain into a sugar rimmed cocktail glass and garnish with a slice of pear.
