About a year ago I was introduced to Maison Gray photography. I am a huge art buff (meaning I like it because it moves me and its pretty) but rarely if ever do I like photographs as art. Maybe they are too real, sometimes the colors too bold, whatever it is I don’t like it. As I argued this to a good friend she said, “yea but what about photographers like Gray Malin?” my response, “who the heck is that and why do I……..”

La Dolce Vita Collection

Yup, now I get it. These are stunning, colorful and inspiring in every way; just like art.

Gray has many collections on his site including Prada Marfa, Humor me and many more, but none are more inspiring and captivating than the La Dolce Vita collection. As the description on his site reads: Documenting many of Italy’s most famous beaches on a 2,000 mile road trip, this series was inspired by the glamorous Italian Riviera lifestyle that mesmerized the world during the 1950s and ’60s. Focusing on the retro-vintage beach umbrellas that seem to have stood still in time, this series is meant to evoke the classic nostalgic opulence of what the Italian Riviera once represented.”

Now that I am one of the cool kids and know about this kick ass photographer I am seeing his art pop up in all sorts of interiors. Pay attention I’m sure you’ll start noticing it too! And if you just can’t get enough of the fun he also just launched a line of wallpaper with black crow studios.
