My team and I are huge advocates for self-care. In fact, my new book, Detoxing Clutter With Feng Shui hones in on the self realization that many women live in the conscious mind of “to-do’s” which ultimately has us making decisions from our logical mind rather than our hearts. Self-care is a dirty word to most women. The idea of finding simple pleasures through out the day brings an onset of shame, guilt and the ugly idea that you don’t deserve to self indulge because you have too much to do.

Nonsense!

No is a complete sentence. Whatever Oprah says is true, right? Well most women get sucked into itineraries that are not sustainable and before they know it their schedules and health are spiraling out of control. But here’s the rub, if you don’t take care of yourself you cannot show up to your friends, family and to those you love with a full tank. Trust me, if you’re showing up tired, cranky, irritable and not feeling well do you think your friend or family member wants to spend time with you?

Kendall Ritz - Self-Care Expert For Women

Here’s the thing, and this is the most important thing you’ll learn in this post! The energy you show up with matters. Why? Because the energy you show up with is what you drive into everything you do. Your kids school project, the errands you run and even the food you cook for your family has your imprint all over it. Do you want that energy to be scattered and in disrepair? Trust me you don’t because that energy then gets picked up by everyone around you and life suddenly starts going at an uncontrollable rate.

As an integrative health expert Doctor Kendall Ritz has seen a growing trend in her practice over the past decade of women who give to the point of exhaustion. And I’m not talking they need a good nap. I’m talking, nervous break downs, adrenal fatigue, adrenal failure, and even heart attacks. I see it in my Feng Shui practice all the time. Through shame, guilt and the “I Should’s” we drive ourselves to the brink of martyrdom sacrificing our health and well-being because to be otherwise is selfish. Does this sound familiar?

Listen, I’m the queen of doing too much and my motto is more is more! But stress IS NOT a badge of honor, nor is it a way of life. Today’s talk proves that! Be indulgent, find pleasure in the little things and know that you DESERVE it. Yep, you do.

THIS is what mindful living is all about so be mindful about your health. Curious to learn more? Be sure to hop on over to Kendall’s website and sign up for her latest Pleasure Challenge!
