Etsy bowl

OK, so for those of you who don’t know, I grew up in in the desert. Surrounded by Indians from the fort Mohave Indian reservation, this area is known for beautiful art and pottery made from their culture. Dream weavers, kokopelli’s, and jaw dropping pottery fill the local boutiques. It has made such a lasting impression on my adult life, that pieces like this bowl make my heart flutter, and remind me of my childhood. I cannot collect enough of it, nor can I ignore it’s beauty. Every home I design has a beautiful piece of pottery placed in it. Whether a bowl, a pitcher or custom pots, nothing can compare to the beauty or spiritual heritage that handmade pottery embraces.

Bowl made of pottery

This piece by, One Clay Bead out of Asheville North Carolina, reminds me of sitting on the back veranda of the house with my feet on the cool saltillo tile, looking out at an Arizona sunset. This piece above is approximately 10″ in diameter and glazed for food use. Oh how I would love to serve my guests with this bowl!

Another bowl, 10″ in diameter, thrown in colors of ocean blue, and turquoise would compliment my growing collection quite well and would also make a great gift. There is nothing more charming, or personal than giving the gift of handmade. And at $49.00, this is a steal!

Want more info on this artist? Find her on etsy at One clay bead. She offers an array of custom handmade mugs, bowls and platters for your home. I could use a few more pitchers for my collection, and some platters (God I love platters), plates, bowls, mugs……………..Oh who am I kidding, I will just take one of everything!
