If you’re anything like me, a typical housewarming gift just won’t do. Sure I’ll give a bottle of wine, or maybe even some detergent, but it will always come with some humor. Moving can be stressful. Stuff is everywhere – but you can’t find a damn thing! So add some fun to the adventure and bring a housewarming gift that makes them laugh out loud, helps them around the house or both. Here are some of my favorites.
I remember years ago when I first moved to Tennessee and our house was full of boxes. It drove me nuts and I was so stressed out because I knew exactly where my stuff was in the old house but no clue which box it was in for the new house. My neighbor brought over a bottle of wine and an opener. I had no clue which box my glasses were in and to my delight she said, “oh honey after the day you’ve had, you deserve to swig it right out of the bottle – so drink up!” I truly did laugh out loud. Luckily she ran next door and grabbed some plastic glasses in case I needed them but I did just that – I gulped it right out of the bottle.
